Race and One of those days

First of all I have managed to fall behind on this blog in the last couple of days and A LOT has happened. Well a lot in our small little world here. First, I spent from hours 6pm to 1am on Friday in the ER with Jacob who had a high fever and ear infection. I managed to miss Pizza Wii (or PIWII) night. We were leaving for Atlanta Saturday morning and I didnt want to travel with my non sleeping, in pain baby so that's why I stayed there for so long.

This past weekend we went to Atlanta. It was a fun little trip. We were hoping to go to the zoo or the aquarium, but the late not ER visit prevented us from getting out the door in time. We had the pleasure of being joined by the Ruzicka family. Joe and Widmar were running the Georgia ING marathon on Sunday morning so we all stayed the ever so wonderfully slow Holiday Inn downtown. :) We went to the expo on Saturday and spent entirely too much money, but we got some GREAT deals that we could pass up (or at least thats what I'm told) :) Widmar got a new "race outfit". Many of you have not had the pleasure of seeing Widmar run a race or triathlon, but he has a fantastic wig and sweatband he wears. Now the outfit is complete with a bright blue/highlighter yellow outfit and some crazy hot green sunglasses. Yes stylish I know. :) (pictures to come) I am so proud of the guys doing this race. Widmar ran 13.1 miles in 1hr 39 min. Which is only one hour faster than I did my princess haha. He's fast. Joe ran in 1hr 50min with a bum leg. They both did so awesome! The finish line was right out the hotel door so it made it nice to go out and watch without getting too soaking wet from the rain.

And to the VERY long day. Not sure what the problem was today. Chikfila day was a little chaotic for us. The boys didnt want to play, they wanted to play with the door, jacob wouldnt stay off the slide (climbing up it) and getting knocked off, crying, and more crying. We then went for an oil change and some other errands and the boys napped in the car despite my attempt to keep them awake. (joshua for an hour which was good, jakey for 15min which was not so good) We went out to play after bringing daddy some dinner and woah we were a mess. I enjoyed the company of the other ladies, but the boys were a little crazy today. Well, Jacob was. THat's what happens with little to no nap. We came home and it was straight crying for 30minutes until Grammie got on Skype and read a story (still some crying) but at least a small break. Ate dinner, bath, milk, bed. This was accomplished before 7:15. I enjoyed dinner alone on the couch with peace and quiet. I have to remind myself sometimes that my babies are still babies. Still 13 months old and will cry when they are overtired, or hungry, or just want to be held by mommy. They have to fight for my attention sometimes because there are two of them. I have to remind myself that it's perfectly normal for them to cry the way they do. Doesnt make it any easier for me, but at least I dont think they are crazy. (usually) :)

I am also constantly reminded of how WONDERFUL my friends are. Everytime I turn around someone is helping with one of the boys without me even asking for help. It makes my life so much easier to know that have friends that care for and love me and my family. I actually got a little emotional tonight thinking about it. God is so incredibly good for giving me the friends that I have. I am blessed beyond belief. Thank you to all my wonderful friend for you love and kindness!

Now I patiently wait for my hubby to return home. (i may not make it til his arrival) I'm exhausted. The Air Force is delaying his return home and making his life a little difficult right now. (sorry dad) He should be home around 10ish. For now I'll enjoy my book, a nice cold beer, and some peace and quiet.

Pics soon I promise, i'm very slow at uploading. :)

CRAZY EYE

So for the past couple of months I have had this eye issue. From what I can tell it comes when I have a severe lack of sleep and maybe my contacts bother it...Who knows. BUT my eye gets SUPER red and hurts really bad, I can't open it because its so painful and light hurts me. So this was how I woke up today and since I have not been seen about this yet I decided to call the hospital. They were able to get me in and it was a slightly entertaining experience. I couldnt help but laugh at the doctor whose name I will protect, but he wasnt the brightest and I think used the S word about 10 times. Basically the conversation went something like this...

doc-so um whats the problem

me-well my eyes have been very red and this is a reoccuring problem and it hurts especially with exposure to light.

doc- this is my second eye issue today (there was probably an inserted S word here)

me- chuckle

doc- (shuts off light looks in my eye) wow that looks really bad (returns back to his seat)

this is all I really get from him. other than he thinks i have conjunctivitis which I dont. I really think its my contacts despite the eye dr not thinking that. It's weird how this started when they changed my contacts on me. I told the doc this and he just looked at me for a min and turned around and typed in his computer.

Doc- i'm no eye doctor so i'll give you a consult to opthomologist (THANK GOD)

Ok so my conversation does nothing for this guys attitude. I'm not really looking for super nice doctors, but i really sat behind this guy as he eagerly clicked buttons. Buttons like...rectal exam (i corrected him and told him it was my eye) Everytime he turned to face the computer I couldnt help but laugh. I have high respect for doctors and nurses I think they have a very difficult job, but this guy oh boy he wasnt the brightest. Needless to say I wasnt totally happy with the experience, BUT I was highly entertained at his lack of ability to deal with me.

All in all a wonderful day. Got to spend a little time outside which is always nice. Sad that there is no power flex tomorrow, but hoping to get back into it next week.

Looking forward to our trip to Atlanta this weekend. Widmar is running the ING 1/2 marathon on Sunday and we are going to spend Saturday up there at the zoo or the aquarium. Should be a fun day. I will definitely blog about that. I love bragging about Widmar. :) Well, I'm off to finish american idol that we missed out on this week. God is so good and I'm thankful for the life he has given me and the people He has put in it.

Sick Baby

Well we have found ourselves with a sick Joshie yet again. He woke up yesterday morning with a fever and he progressively got worse throughout the day. At 3 we saw the Ranger Doc and he said that Joshua had a lot of fluid behind his ears, but wasnt infected. By 6pm his fever spiked to 104.8. With the advice of a very good friend who comes with a medical family :) we took him to the ER. He had a full blown ear infection in his right ear. We had an appointment with his pediatrician this morning and not only was his right ear REALLY bad his left ear was now infected. It amazes me how fast ear infections come on. We have been worried about these random high fevers he has been getting and they are pretty sure it is due the ear infections. Looking back at his records the fevers are consistently within a week or two of ear infections. This is our 7 or 8th ear infection in the last 7 months so we are being referred to an ENT doctor to have tubes put in. I think it will be what is best for him. He constantly has fluid in his middle ear that result in a reaccuring ear infection. They believe the fevers will go away after this procedure is done. Today has been a better day. He has ran a fever once that was pretty high, but it's the first day on antibiotics. Hopefully tomorrow we will see some improvement or its back into the doc on Friday. His pediatrician has been wonderful and gave us her personal pager number so we can contact her directly. This is huge because otherwise you have to go through the hospitals call line which can take up to 72 hours.

We enjoyed a great dinner with Widmar's sister Amy. It's been so nice having her so close to us and seeing her more these days. She's been able to build a great relationship with our boys. Lindsay and Joey also came over for dinner and it's always nice to have them over.

It's been raining a lot here and today I just couldnt take the staying in the house anymore. So...whats a girl to do? GO SHOPPING :) Lindsay and I and the boys met up with Chrissy and her girls for lunch at the mall and did some shopping in Victorias secret and bath and body works. Then we headed over to Target for some more SHOPPING :) I bought myself some new shirts. I realized recently that for the last two summers I have been in maternity clothes. I am far from maternity clothes right now and have a minimal ammount of clothes to wear. My body just isnt the way it was before those boys. So I bought a couple shirts for myself today. I was pleased to be able to buy smalls still :) It made me feel a little better.

Ok I've rambled enough I think! Its off to finish the biggest loser we missed last night and then go to bed. Sleepy heads all around here!!

Daddy day

Today was a FANTASTIC day!! Widmar actually had the day off. It was nice to have him home. The boys slept til 8 and then we went to the gym. The ladies that work in the hourly care were excited to see the boys daddy. Yes they really do have one :) The boys were SUPER good all day and played a lot with daddy which was enjoyable for me to sit back and watch. We then ran to babies r us so Widmar could finish baby proofing our kitchen so I dont have to listen to Thing 1 and Thing 2 cry while i'm in the kitchen doing something. Now they can play in there without me worrying about the dangers. THEN, we were able to go to the gym AGAIN! We went for a little 30/40 minute swim while the boys played in the hourly care room. I enjoyed it because Widmar is a good coach. I am a HORRIBLE swimmer and he really encourages me to keep going. AND it gets better...Lindsay and Joey brought us Thai food for dinner and we are currently watching the silly GIJOE movie as the "boys" are picking out all the things that are wrong with the movie. All in all it has been a wonderful day and I am reminded that it is the small (to me very big) things in life that mean the world, like my Widmar being home for a whole day. Looking forward to Tuesday ChikFilA day tomorrow and hoping the boys sleep in again. Makes for a much more pleasant day.

not so good

So far not very good at this...

Working on updating this thing with what has been going on over the last week...example...

*big race in Disney
*boys trip to the park
*easter pics
etc.

So check back this week I promise to post more and even some pics :) I'm working on uploading those as well. As for today, had a wonderful morning playing with the boys while the Widmar ran and then went for a pedicure with Dion this afternoon. It was a wonderful time and well needed break. Looking forward to more of those "girls times". I have been blessed with some wonderful friends around here. Currently watching movie with the hubby and looking forward to Power Flex in the morning. Maybe even a run or swim in the afternoon. Oh yea...bought our tickets for my sisters wedding. Emotional event, wish we could stay longer, but am happy that we can all get there and stay a few days after. I am so excited for Jamie and Matt and looking forward to the quality family time.

First Time

Hello everyone,

I thought I'd start blogging again. I did through my whole pregnancy and I actually enjoyed it. It will probably take me some time to get into the swing of things, but hopefully I can keep up with it. I look forward to sharing fun stories of thing 1 (Joshua) and thing 2 (jacob), army adventures, crazy fitness events, etc. Check back soon for my first REAL post. This is more of a tester. :)
